Sociological research into psychedelic substances can influence drug laws and policy, providing a scientific, evidence based approach. The history of psychedelic drug use in Scotland and globally, is also an important area of research which could further enhance political policies. The group will explore historical and sociological perspectives of psychedelic substances, continuing to break down barriers of psychedelic censorship through reviewing, delivering and investigating the history and sociology of psychedelic substances.
The Sociological and Historical Group meets every month to discuss psychedelic research. Meetings are held virtually on the last Friday of every month at 10:30am-12:30pm. To register, please send your details via the contact form here with a brief description of your background and interests, and we will be in touch.
